APRS consists of the APRSxxx.EXE file and dozens of MAP, HISTORY and README
files, all ZIPPED up into a single APRSxxx.ZIP file. YOU MUST USE PKUNZIP with
the -D OPTION to get all the subdirectorys. Of the 1.9 Mbytes, a minimum
system can be built in 250K with only the .EXE, MAPLIST.APR, and one .MAP file.
NOTE: As of distro 4.0, EVERYTHING WILL NO LONGER FIT ON A 720K FLOPPY. SO
I HAVE REMOVED INCONSEQUENTIAL FILES TO A SEPARATE FILE CALLED EXTRA.ZIP.
THESE FILES (and tiny maps) CAN BE DOWNLOADED from 410 280-2503, BUT ARE NOT
SIGNIFICANT. CHECK YOUR LOCAL STATE APRS MAP COORDINATOR FOR TINY MAPS IN
YOUR AREA. ALSO, THERE IS NO LONGER ROOM FOR ME TO INCLUDE THIS README.NOW
FILE SO IT IS INCLUDED ON PAPER. AND YOU MUST USE YOUR OWN COPY OF PKUNZIP!
If there are any other files on your APRS distro disk, besides the ZIP file,
PKUNZIP and this README.NOW, then they are new, and should be copied onto the
right subdirectories after everything is unzipped.
APRS will run on any PC,XT or AT machine with CGA,EGA, or VGA. If you have a
Hercules Video card, run SIMCGA P first to make it simulate a real CGA device.
TO INSTALL APRS on your SYSTEM: DOS COMMAND

after running APRS... Use the ctrl-T TALK mode to talk to ur TNC.
THE LATEST APRS is posted on 410-280-2503 BBS. After version 3.11 I will also
always post a file similar to: 311to312.zip which will contain only the files
that changed in the lastest release.
